In association with the Taekwondo Association of Kerala, an All Kerala Sportseed Amrita Vidyalayam Taekwondo Competition was conducted at Amrita Vidyalayam, Ernakulam on February 4, 2017. Students from all the Amrita Vidyalayams in Kerala participated in the competition.

The program was inaugurated by Mr. P.C. Gopinath, Treasurer of TAKE, who is a 5^th Dan Black Belt and International Referee. He was deputed as Observer of the match by the Taekwondo Association of Kerala (TAKE). His speech motivated the students to rise to new heights. He said that martial arts is not a fight, but focuses on controlling one’s emotions, and developing patience, confidence, and respect for each other. The students were also addressed by Smt. Vijayalakshmi, Senior Principal of AV Ernakulam, and Mr. Sudhanshu Fadnis, Director of KSR Sportseed Pvt. Ltd. 

After registration, the matches started around 10:30 a.m. under different weight categories. The match was controlled by Mr. P.C. Gopinath (Observer) and 5 referees from the Taekwondo Association of Kerala. The students performed exceptionally well and beyond their skill levels. Professional Dojang mats (sparring mats) and safety gear were used to give children a real tournament experience and to avoid injuries.

The event concluded around 4:30 p.m., following which medals, trophies and certificates were distributed to all the participants.
