As part of a pioneering initiative by the central board of secondary education, a 5 day workshop on effective management and leadership was organized in the Amritapuri campus of Amrita University from 16th to 20th October. Senior administrators, Principals of Amrita Vidyalayams from Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmadabad, Karnataka and 27 schools in Kerala attended the workshop.
The particular session was lead by Mr. Sandeep N.B, the National coordinator of OD Alternatives. The workshop was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the coordinator of Amrita Vidyalayams, Bri. Pavitramrita Chaitanya, along with Bri. Virajamrita Chaitanya, the Principal of Amrita Vidyalayam, Mysore.
Amrita schools, who have considerable reputation for imparting education in traditional value based way, are expected to boost their reach to the students by bringing in modern means of data communication. For this, the school managers are equipped with the latest technologies and better management skills, apart from advanced behavioral skills. The board expects to keep the senior administers and principals updated with the latest methodologies of pedagogy for the same and hence they are required to attend new training scheme for a minimum of 5 days per year.
